In Wisconsin, police got wind that an animal shelter was rehabilitating an injured baby deer, so of course they responded with surveillance, aerial photos and a SWAT team.

If this story is accurate, the NSA collects a lot more than “metadata” without warrants. The contents of emails, browser histories, and facebook chats can be collected with no supervision by the courts.
